Last weekend a friend and I went on a run to prepare for the Girlfriends Half Marathon this coming Sunday. I let her pick the place since she trains alot more than I do! She suggested the Frenchman’s Bar/Vancouver Lake Trail. It was beautiful, even in the rain!!! I’m embarrased to say after living in Clark County for 18 years I’ve never been to either park before. So for those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of visiting these local sites, please take the time and experience them. The trail is approx. 3.7 miles, and connects the two parks. If you’d like to run or walk a longer distance check out www.mapmyrun.com  Frenchman’s Park is 120 acres on the Columbia River. Vancouver Lake Park has 234 acres. Enjoy beautiful views of Mt Hood, Mt Adams and Mt St Helens, wildlife and migratory waterfowl. No park fees in the winter months. So get outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery right here in our own backyard!!

I like variety in my training and so do most of my clients.

Studies show better results in weight loss and increased lean mass and bone mass when you change up your routine with different stimulus. Not to mention it’s a lot more fun to train that way!

In my private studio, I have top of the line equipment including Precor strength seated and standing eliptical machines, TRUE treadmill, Paramount and TRX functional training systems, balls, BOSU Trainers, balance equipment, a Schwinn spinning bike,  H2O Fitness water rower, punch/kick bag, free-weights and more!

Some or all can be incorporated into fun and challenging workouts for private, partner and small group fitness training!
